It's 50 years since we began acquiring land and buildings in Shoreditch but only three years since we first hired art collective LeGun to create a set of illustrated Shoreditch scenes. To celebrate our 50th year we hired them again to create us a 50th birthday party illustration, we interviewed them while they worked.
A charming Frenchman in buzzing Hackney, Jean-Baptiste Thiebaut, know to most as JB, has been here in London for over a decade. First gaining his doctorate at Queen Mary and since has been realising his vision to establish Music Hackspace as the place in east London to "share thoughts, knowledge, technologies, processes and aesthetics on music and audio". Based at ContainerVille, JB was the winner of a year's lease having entered our short film competition.
